Garvey Communication Associates Inc. Promotes Mary Fallon To Media Director and Appoints Amanda Gauthier as Social Media Assistant

John J. Garvey, president of Garvey Communication Associates Inc. (GCAI) announced the promotion of Mary K. Fallon to Media Director for the Springfield based marketing and public relations agency. As Media Director, Ms. Fallon will direct public relations, media buying, and social media efforts for GCAI clients in financial services and manufacturing. She joined the company in 2004 as a Marketing Assistant and served as a Media Analyst until this promotion.

According to Mr. Garvey, Ms. Fallon is a social media veteran who can easily help GCAI's clients engage their customers through both new and traditional media. She attended the Public Relations Society of America's Digital Impact Summit in 2008 and was a presenter at the 2009 Online Impact Seminar at Springfield Technical Community College.

Ms. Fallon is a graduate of the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing. She is a member of The Valley Press Club, The Public Relations Society of America and serves on the board of directors for The Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts. Ms. Fallon is also a new homeowner in the City of Springfield.

Mr. Garvey also announced the appointment of Amanda L. Gauthier as Social Media Assistant. Mr. Garvey stated that Ms. Gauthier assists in the development and management of both agency and client social media platforms. She is experienced in the optimization of LinkedIn and Facebook including the creation of personal profiles and company or fan pages on those sites. Ms. Gauthier also helps GCAI clients understand the popular social networking tool Twitter. She has operated and optimized this platform for several individuals and organizations including GCAI client EASTEC - the largest precision manufacturing event on the East Coast. Ms. Gauthier is a resident of East Longmeadow.

Ms. Gauthier is an associate member of The Public Relations Society of America, a member of The Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts, and is a student at Holyoke Community College.

Both Ms. Fallon and Ms. Gauthier are volunteers at the Zanetti Montessori School in Springfield through GCAI's vocational mentoring program "Media and Marketing for Middle School."
