GCAI Attends Zanetti School Career Day

November '08: For six years now, GCAI has been running a vocational mentoring program at the Alfred G. Zanetti Montessori Magnet School called "Media and Marketing for Middle School." This year, Mary Fallon and John Garvey were invited to meet all of the school's students at Career Day. Not knowing what to expect, they packed up a laptop, some pens, a PMS color chip book, and some sample advertisements. About five hours later, Mary and John had not only met the students individually (some 250 of them) but they had explained marketing, advertisement, and commercials over and over until both were losing their voices. Still, the day was filled with fun and excitement: younger students marveled at the range of colors in the PMS book, older students - "graduates" of the "Media and Marketing for Middle School" program - came over to the GCAI table to catch up, and just about everyone thought the FieldEddy TV spot - featuring a car falling from the sky - was a blast.
