Social Media This Week (12/15/09): US Facebook Users, and New Privacy Settings

On December 7th, Facebook reached 100.5 million US users. This number is up from 98.1 million just the week before.

Facebook recently launched some new privacy settings. You are now able to chose the level of privacy you want on each post. You can share one post with everyone, friends and networks, friends of friends, only friends, or you can customize it. I would recommend going through your privacy settings and making sure that nothing is being shared that you don't want to be. They have also removed regional networks. The regional networks used to lead to some people accidently sharing their profiles with whole cities, and sometimes even countries.
