This Week in Social Media (2/23/10): Ages of Social Networking Users, Increase in Time Spent on Facebook

Time Spent On Facebook: According to a recent Nielsen Company survey of internet users, Facebook users now spend an average of 7 hours a month on the site. They also stated that users spend about 3.5% more time on Facebook than Google or Yahoo.

Social Networking Users: In a study from Pingdom they state that 25% of social networking users are between the ages of 35 and 44. Only 3% are age 65 and older.

Twitter Users Are Older: In the same study from Pingdom they stated that 64% of Twitter users are 35 and older.
